Legacy System Maintenance, Adaptation & Issue Management

We’re responsible for maintaining and evolving a barbershop booking system used by both customers and salon staff. The platform includes a user-facing app for booking appointments and a salon-facing interface for managing schedules and availability.

One of the biggest challenges with this project has been taking over a highly fragmented, legacy codebase — built over time with multiple patches, limited documentation, and inconsistent architecture. Despite these limitations, we’ve been able to quickly understand the system’s structure, stabilize it, and begin delivering ongoing changes and updates on tight timelines.

Our work includes:

  • Implementing new features and UX adjustments on both sides of the platform.

  • Handling urgent issue resolution tied to server outages, scheduling bugs, and customer-side errors.

  • Making gradual code improvements and refactors where possible without disrupting business operations.

  • Acting as a point of contact for the client to help them navigate technical issues and decisions in real time.

This is a hands-on, high-trust partnership where our ability to work fast, problem-solve under pressure, and bring structure to a legacy environment makes a direct impact on day-to-day operations.
