We developed SmartClip, a dynamic web-based platform designed to simplify and enhance the creation of collaborative video clips — most commonly for celebrations, events, or group-based messaging. Built for maximum flexibility, ease of use, and scalability, the platform handles everything from admin setup to final media uploads, streamlining what would otherwise be a complex creative process.

Multi-Role Architecture & Smart Authentication

SmartClip is built around a smart authentication system that eliminates the need for traditional registration or login flows. Each user receives a unique, role-based link that determines their level of access — whether as a manager, co-manager, or participant. This frictionless approach makes the experience seamless, especially for non-technical users or one-time participants.

• Managers can assign parts, monitor progress, and oversee all contributors.

• Co-managers assist in coordination and can take part in video creation.

• Participants receive a simple interface for their task — whether it’s recording, uploading, or submitting content.

Task Types & Guided Recording Experience

Participants are assigned specific tasks that can include:

• Recording a video with lip-sync timing, subtitles, and a real-time countdown.

• Uploading a video from their device.

• Writing a message or greeting that will be included in the final compilation.

The platform ensures a smooth user journey with visual guidance, re-record options, and integrated subtitles synced to the selected song segment.

Admin Panel & Project Control

The admin dashboard allows for complete control over the project:

• Upload full video tracks or songs.

• Cut and assign parts to users.

• Track completion status in real-time.

• Reassign parts or add/remove participants with ease.

Admins can see which parts are pending, completed, or need revision — giving full visibility into progress without chasing participants offline.

Group Coordination & Progress Management

The system supports group coordination, enabling one central user to invite others, assign roles, and manage the timeline. This is especially useful for events involving large groups like team tributes, birthdays, weddings, or organizational messages.

Cloud Infrastructure & Media Handling

SmartClip integrates Firebase and AWS to handle:

• Real-time database operations (e.g., status tracking and role management).

• Cloud storage and optimization of video files.
